Ok so it goes a little something like this.....
Monday(1/11/2010) we get home from school and Braxton starts coughing at 2:30. I think to myself, "no big deal he is the kid that always has a cough and we have a follow up doctors appointment tomorrow so that's great!" Tuesday we go to the docotor. She hears his cough and says to start the breathing treatments again until it subsides. Great news lungs were clear all was good with the exception of the cough. Wednesday the cough gets a little worse. We take a long nap and when we wake up Braxton has a fever so I give him some Motrin. No big deal right? WRONG!!!!!! He threw up five minutes later. I mean threw up like never before. This freaked me out becaue he has never done this. We immediately go to the doctors office. She proceeds to tell me that he has a double ear infection, 103 temp, this stupid cough and now he's puking!! YIKES!!!!! she says to try Tylenol for the fever as it is easier on the stomach. They gave him a dose there and it seemed to work..... Ok, we are on our way home and he seems to be getting a little better so I stop to get him a treat, a milkshake. He loves milkshakes!!!! Wrong thing to do. He threw it up in the drive way when we got home. Long story short for Wednesday night: He threw up & threw up & threw up some more. Beats all I have ever seen! I was scared! We had to worry about dehydration amongst all of the other things and the fact he could keep nothing down was so nerve racking. It was CRAZY!!!!. We ended up calling the emergency hotline at the doctors office and they told us to get suppositories to see if those would bring his temp down & calm his moode. So Jer went back to Publix for the second time this evening to get more necesssities! Thursday: rolled around; afer a night of practically no sleep Jeremy got woke up to Braxton puking on him in our bed. Awesome right? Braxton's temp was still high so we tried to give him tylenol again and nope that came right back up. By this time I had enough, we went strait to the doctor again. This time she gave him a pill that was supposed to settle your stomach, and it did, Thank God! Thursday afternoon it was like a new kid was in our house but now diarrhea began. Bless his heart!!! He was nowhere near 60% better but just to see him have a little life and eat a cracker was great. Friday, we woke up to a nice surprise, Jeremy got Brax out of bed and it was covered in poop. Oh yeah this was at 6:15 am to, to make it even better. The day went on and he pooped more and more and some more to finally his butt was so raw he screamed at the thought of getting his diaper changed. Then what do you know, I started to not feel so good. By Friday afternoon I got the poopies and by that evening I was throwing up. Great!!!! Jer's parents came over to help out for a little while which was nice because it let me rest for a bit which was much needed due to me feeling like hammered dog poo ran over by a 18 wheeler five times!!! Saturday: came and again we woke up to poop in the bed with Braxton. I never thought this was going to end! Thank goodness his behavior was much improved so if it was just poop I had to deal with today than I was good. We didn't do much that day, basically rested and that's it! Sunday: We we wake up to throw up in the bed with Braxton and daddy hitting the toilet himself! Oh no this is sooo not good! Jeremy was sick throwing up & pooping all day but luckily Braxton was good. He still was not eating but again his behavior was much better. Monday: Well we were awaken at 1:15 am to Braxton puking in the bed!!! What fun we had!!! Jer is still sick as well. What a great night!!! Pretty tame during the day though. Jeremy is on the recovery, he didn't do much, but Brax was very active. He and I were able to go outside for a bit because of the beautiful weather that our Great God blessed us with and that's just what the both of us needed. I was at witts end. I was so over this sickness. All the poo & puke and now the clean up & disinfecting had to get underway. I was on edge and very very impatient. I was over it! But like I said it's amazing of what a little time outside on a gorgeous day will do for one. We all sat down at the dinner table that night and ate dinner, not much of course, (chk noodle soup) and had some getting better family time! That was awesome! Now here we are it's Tuesday:(1/19/2010) It is a fabulous day! 64 degrees outside with the Sunshine shining and we woke up to..... a nice clean Braxton in a nice clean bed. Daddy went to work and the day was off to be great! That's just what it has been GREAT!!!! Grandma came over to let me go to the gym which was so nice since I have not been out of the house with the exception of doctors visits since last Tuesday. The sun is shining and all is well at the Glaze compound! It's funny how a week like this will make you appreciate the ever so small things in life like a ray of sunshine or an upbeat song at the gym, but it does. Brax is pretty much back to his old self but still has the cough, but no worries cause like I stated before that's what I have found to be normal for him in the winter months. My attitude has done a 180 and the house is almost clean and all the way disinfected!
In the course of this past week I have learned to depend on God in more ways than I did before and I have felt him answer prayers quickly. My intuition or what I like to think of as God telling me what to do, is way better than I ever imagined. That mothers instinct thing is truly unique and a gift from God. I will admit I questioned him time and again throughout the week because things just kept spiraling down hill at a rate like none other, (I left out random other things that happened around the house that just added to our chaos) but all in all God was right there with us during the week and He brought us through it. The verse: If God brings you to it He will bring you through it stands ever so true in my eyes! Praise God for being great and blessing my family in the many ways that He does on a daily basis!!
