The Atlanta Zoo

The Zoo was so much fun. The crew consisted of me & Brax, Kim, Reed, Will, Carla, Maddie & of course baby Ella!! We all had a fabulous time!!!

Brax really liked this one huge bird, it just paced back & forth and we had to watch it for literally a half hour!!! My favorite thing was getting Brax to be a gorilla!! He beats his chest and makes the sound while he spins in circles, it's quite entertaining!!! The kids also enjoyed ice cream and Brax & Maddie had a little love- hate thing going on while sitting on Willie B. They both were like "move over," "No. You move over." I swear these two are meant for each other it's like they are already boyfriend & girlfriend with the littel quarrels they have!!! I will say they are mighty cute together!

Brax also had a great time in the gift shop, he found a giraffe and this hat; oh this hat!! He had to have it, as you can see and it's WAY cute, NOT!!! But that's what he picked out and I will be darned if the kid doesn't wear it all the time!!! I guess he really knows what he wants!!

We all had a great time can not wait to go back!!

Happy Fathers Day

Jer,

Today is about you, and Brax & I want to tell you that you are a great father, actually the best dad in the world!! We are so lucky to have you in our lives and for you to be such an active part of it. You are truly the backbone of our family and we adore you for all you are & for all you do!!

I can not tell you how much I love seeing you interact with Brax. The way you father him is amazing and he loves you so much!!! I adore watching the two of you together, whether it's mowing the grass, playing in the pool, playing guitar, playing golf or just listening to you ask Brax "what does daddy say?" and hear him answer "love you" all of these things are just tidbits of what makes you so great as a father but they mean so much to Braxton & I. I know that Brax appreciates all of these things but I know in the future as he grows & matures he will cherish all of these things and value your relationship so much that you guys will always best friends as well father & son!!

Thank you for being such a godly man and leading our family's walk with our God. Thank you for being you, thank you for wanting & taking on the role of a loving and participative father, you do it so well!! Thank you for your unconditional & never ending love and most of all thank you for always giving us the best of you!!!!! We love you more than words can ever express!!!!

Brax is TWO!!!!

HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY to BRAX!!!!

Wow where has the time went????????????
I can not believe my baby is two. I can honestly say it has been the best and quickest two years of my life. It seems like just yesterday we were checking into the hospital to have Braxton. Man time sure flies.

Over the past two years we have learned so much as a family. Brax was just the right addition to Jer and I. B has really taught us a lot and we are very thankful for him and all his neat things that he does and has shown us over the course of his life.

We are truly blessed to have a happy healthy little boy who loves life!!! As a mother I can not ask for anything more. I love to watch him play, hear him talk, see his gorgeous smile and most of all feel his amazing love!!!! He is my buddy and we have so much fun together each & everyday! Thank you Brax for making mine & daddy's life so entertaining!

Brax birthday consisted of a pool party at Uncles Tom & Aunt Brenda's ( on Sunday May 30th) house where we enjoyed the pool, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cake and lots of Cars themed presents (Brax is into Cars the movie). Our time was spent with our family and it was wonderful. Braxton's great Uncle Dick( my papa's brother) & his family even came, it was so nice to see them as we do not get to that often. Brax had to show off his swimming abilities, he discovered that he loves to jump in the pool and swim to the stairs like the big kids do.

I will defintily say this kid is loved and loves everyone!! Brax gave many hugs to everyone as you can see in the pics.

On his actual bday, today. We are headed to the pool once again with some friends to play & hang out! It is going to be great fun!!!!

Thank you to all for celebrating Bman's birthday with us!!!!

Gone Fishin.....

Brax went fishing for th first time and it was so much fun and really cute too!
His nanny & papa bought him a cars life jacket and Cars fishing pole and I have to say he loved them both!

For the past week or so all I have heard from Brax is "I want to go fishing at Nanny's house" so we finally made it there and papa took Brax & his cousin will fishing~! At first, Brax just wanted to throw the pole in the water and we (me & papa) had to fish the pole out of the water. After these two instances Brax was all good! He sat and watched his bobber in the water and then he would stand up to reel the line back in. I think one of the cutest things was he would squat down to put the tip of the pole in the water (I think this was B's way to fish).

Although Brax did not catch a fish, Will did (a cat fish) and Brax immediately went to grab it! Brax didn't get to hold it but I know he would have if the opportunity would have arose.

The boys had a lot of fun and I know papa and I did too. It was really neat watching Brax and trying to keep him untangled from his own fishing line. Soemtimes I thought he was trying to catch himself the way he would get wrapped up in line!!!!!

It's swim time!!!!

Brax is enrolled in ISR(infant Swim Resource)program which is a drowning prevention program for children ages 6 months to 5 years old. Brax started this last summer (2009)where his instructor (Mrs. Robin) taught him to float on his back to save himself if he were to fall into a body of water!! He was only one at the time of last years lessons and although it was uncomfortable to hear my child scream during the his instructional period, it paid off as we got to witness his abilities to save himself first hand; when he walked into the pool at his grandmas house and immediately assumed his float position.

This year in the program Brax will learn the swim-float-swim sequence. Today marks the start of his second week and Mrs Robin has B getting(learning to swim) the stairs on his own as well as getting the wall (basically finding an exit) in order to get himself out of the pool. It is absolutely remarkable to see this take place. Brax keeps his eyes open under water and finds Robins hand(an underwater cue) and then she makes him swim to get the wall or the stairs. Last week he did the "superman float" to get her hand & the wall but as of this weekend in the pool with me and yesterday with Mrs. Robin he began kicking his feet to really swim! It's so awesome!!!

I am very thankful for this program and his instructor, Mrs. Robin. ISR has proven to be very beneficial in teaching our little guy to respect the water and learn how to save himself in the need occurs.

These pics are from the first day of lessons this year. Mrs. Robin was refreshing Braxton of his float. He was crying but by the third day of lessons he stopped and when he was finished with the lesson he was saying "go swim with Robin again" I love hearing these words!!!!
